[CLOSED]-ICMR Healthcare Project – 6 month Internship Opportunity

Applications are invited for a full-time, six-month, on-campus research internship under an ICMR-funded project at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala, in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh.

The selected intern will work closely with the research team to develop real-world software systems for research, data visualization, and system integration.

Candidates with strong skills in app or web development are encouraged to apply. Additional exposure to AI/ML or hardware systems is desirable but not mandatory.

The internship is strictly full-time and on-campus, with a performance-based stipend of up to ₹10,000 per month. This opportunity is ideal for motivated students seeking hands-on experience in a research-driven, multidisciplinary environment.

Position: Full Stack App Developer (Frontend + Backend)

Nature of Role

This position involves both frontend and backend development. The intern will work on designing user interfaces, developing application logic, and integrating backend services for web and/or mobile-based applications.

Primary / Essential Skills

• Strong understanding of Full Stack Development

• Proficiency in one or more of the following frontend frameworks:

  • Vue.js

  • React.js

  • Flutter

• Experience in developing:

  • Web Applications

  • Mobile Applications

• Backend development experience using:

  • Node.js / Express / Django / Flask (any one)

• Knowledge of:

  • RESTful APIs

  • JSON, HTTP protocols

  • Database management (MySQL / MongoDB / Firebase)

• Familiarity with version control tools (Git/GitHub)

Desirable / Good-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to Hardware or IoT-based systems

• Basic understanding of AI/ML model integration

• Experience in API integration with AI or data-driven modules

• Understanding of deployment and hosting (cloud or local servers)

• Basic UI/UX design principles

Expected Responsibilities

• Design and develop frontend and backend modules

• Integrate APIs and databases

• Support development of project prototypes / PoCs

• Assist in testing, debugging, and documentation

• Collaborate with research and development teams

Internship Details

• Duration: 6 Months (Full-Time)

Job Descriptions & Responsibilities

1. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
- Lead AI/ML model development.
- Oversee hardware implementation & integration with wearable sensors.
- Manage sensor, clinical, and imaging data.
- Publish research papers and supervise junior team members.

2. Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
- Implement ML and signal processing workflows.
- Support hardware development, testing, and deployment with wearable devices.
- Work with wearable and clinical datasets.

3. Project Technical Support-III
- Assist in data collection and preprocessing.
- Field support, device setup, testing, and maintaining device logs.
- Handle office documentation work, file management, and record keeping.
- Assist in preparing reports, spreadsheets, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with team members, schedule meetings, and manage communication workflows.
- Support hardware operations and troubleshooting during data acquisition.
