Proton BioSystems Lab Secures ₹15.60 Lakhs Funding for AI-Driven Research on Precision Therapy for Diabetic Chronic Wounds

Proton BioSystems Lab, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), is proud to announce a significant research milestone with the selection of its proposal titled “Multimodal AI-based Predictive Design of Bioactive Hydrogels for Precision Therapy of Diabetic Chronic Wounds” under the prestigious TIET–UQ Center of Excellence | Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CoDSAI) Funding Program 2026.
The project has been awarded ₹15.60 Lakhs in research funding, recognizing the lab’s commitment to pioneering innovative, AI-driven solutions in healthcare, biomaterials, and precision medicine.
This interdisciplinary research initiative aims to leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence, multimodal data analytics, and biomedical engineering to design next-generation bioactive hydrogels for the treatment of diabetic chronic wounds. By integrating computational intelligence with translational healthcare research, the project seeks to develop predictive and personalized therapeutic approaches that can significantly improve wound healing outcomes and patient care.
