Bridging Clinical Expertise and Technological Innovation: Proton BioSystems Lab and PGIMER Collaborate on Diabetes Research

Proton BioSystems Lab recently had the privilege of participating in a focused brainstorming session on diabetes research in collaboration with distinguished professors and clinicians from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. The meeting marked another significant step toward fostering interdisciplinary partnerships aimed at addressing one of the most pressing healthcare challenges of our time.
Dr. Harpreet Singh, along with the team comprising Dr. Simranjit Kaur, Dr. Arzoo Miglani, Dr. Shivam Gangwar (Research Scientist-II), Mr. Gaurav Kumar (Research Scientist-I), Mr. Dayal Singh, and Mr. Anshum Singla, visited PGIMER to engage in meaningful discussions with clinical experts and researchers.
The brainstorming session provided an excellent platform for integrating clinical insights from PGIMER with the technological expertise of Proton BioSystems Lab. Discussions focused on innovative approaches in software development, hardware design, and device-level technologies for diabetes management. Particular emphasis was placed on conceptualizing technical hardware solutions and developing prototype mobile applications that could facilitate patient monitoring and improve healthcare delivery.
The collaborative exchange highlighted the immense potential of combining medical expertise with artificial intelligence, biomedical engineering, and digital health technologies. Such interdisciplinary efforts are essential for developing non-invasive, patient-centric solutions capable of improving diabetes diagnosis, monitoring, and management.
We sincerely acknowledge the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for its continued funding support, which has been instrumental in enabling this collaborative research initiative. We also extend our gratitude to the dedicated teams at Proton BioSystems Lab, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, and PGIMER, Chandigarh, for their valuable contributions and shared vision.
As we move forward, we remain committed to translating these ideas into impactful innovations that can contribute to better healthcare outcomes and advance the future of non-invasive diabetes management.
Together, through collaboration and innovation, we aim to transform healthcare technologies into meaningful solutions for patients and society.
